Career Opportunity: Marketing & Communications Manager

We are looking for a full-time Marketing & Communications Manager that can help to raise the positive profile of our properties, projects, and company (a repeat Albany Business Review “Best Place to Work”), and drive qualified leads through strategic marketing and public relations activities.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who possesses strong multi-channel project management, copywriting and art direction/design skills. Real estate and property management industry experience are desirable, but not required.

Major Accountabilities

  • Campaign management to achieve lead generation goals
  • Author and curate content consistent with company brand(s)
  • Collateral and platform maintenance
  • Internal customer service for departmental marketing needs
  • Reporting, budget management and ROI

General Duties and Expectations

  • Develop and execute well researched, concurrent multichannel marketing plans/campaigns, editorial calendars and budgets based on SMART goals in coordination with product managers; collect, interpret and integrate data on the business, market, competitors, and clients.
  • Author and/or curate new marketing content with appropriate brand voice and standards for different company properties and products to utilize across multiple channels, with an emphasis on digital and social media. Ensure all marketing content is up to date across platforms.
  • Procure and coordinate third party services as needed to realize marketing goals (e.g., graphic and web design, photography/video, publicity, advertising, promotional items, etc.) with focus on best value for cost.
  • Coordinate identity and branding process and contribute to brand strategy for new development projects and refresh/rebrand initiatives for existing products and properties as necessary. Plan and coordinate activities and events (e.g., groundbreakings, grand openings, sponsorships, etc.) in alignment with overall strategy/plan goals.
  • Provide marketing support including website management, graphic design, event support and content editing to other departments as needed, ensuring the voice and standards for our family of brands are maintained.
  • Refine and provide regular reporting and analysis for all marketing initiatives to drive better decisions/increase qualified leads.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; equivalent relevant experience may substitute for education.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; journalistic writing experience preferred.
  • Computer literate, proficient with common business software/applications (e.g., Microsoft Office suite), and ability to adapt to new technology. Proficiency with web tools, WordPress, Google advertising platforms, and social media required. Intermediate design and publishing software ability utilizing Adobe Creative Suite preferred.
  • Strong initiative, work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Self-starter with the ability to derive need without being told exactly what to do.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain quality relationships with tenants, vendors, and team members.
  • Ability to work with sensitive files and maintain confidentiality; must pass criminal background check.
  • Real estate, property management and/or hospitality industry experience preferred but not required.

COMPENSATION

RDC offers competitive compensation, paid time off, company-paid health, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, and a company-matched 401(k) plan, along with training and career advancement opportunities.

Anticipated Salary Range: $70,000 – $85,000 per year
