The News Wins NYCRAA Apartment Excellence Award
The News Apartments was presented with an Apartment Excellence Award by The New York Capital Region Apartment Association (NYCRAA) at the Association’s 1st annual award ceremony and holiday mixer on December 11th, 2019, at the Century House in Latham, NY.
The NYCRAA Apartment Excellence Award program recognizes property owners, managers, and staff of those apartment communities in the region that achieve the highest standards of property management, physical qualities, and marketing creativity.
NYCRAA selects award winners by “secret shopping” each property nominated for the following four categories:
- “Best Curb Appeal” (exterior landscaping, exterior maintenance, signage, etc.)
- “Best Overall Community Appeal”(all exterior elements, plus common areas, leasing office and a representative unit – vacant, model or occupied)
- “Most Outstanding Amenities”(the community with the best amenities included in rent)
- “Best Green Building and Retrofits”(Most environmentally friendly community)
The News Apartments won for “Best Curb Appeal.”
“This honor is a direct reflection of the dedication and attention to detail by our crack property management team at The News,” said Nina Joseph, Director of Property Management at The Rosenblum Companies. “They personify our company’s core objective to provide ‘better spaces’ for our tenants.”

NYCRAA was founded to join together small and large owners of real estate for their mutual benefit. The organization is comprised of owners and managers of multi-family rental properties as well as providers servicing the housing industry. Through an organized program of information, project development, and educational seminars, NYCRAA keeps its members informed on all phases of the multifamily housing industry. Also, in 2019, The News Apartments received the “Excellence in Historic Preservation Award” from the Preservation League of New York State and an “Award of Honor” from The American Institute of Architects Eastern New York (AIAENY).
