Paula Mahan keynote for broker meeting

paula mahanPaula Mahan, Supervisor of the Town of Colonie, will speak to an audience of commercial real estate brokers and affiliated professionals at the July marketing meeting of the Commercial & Industrial Real Estate Brokers, Inc. (CIREB)The Rosenblum Companies will host the meeting on Thursday July 14, 2016, at 2 Winners Circle, one of 14 buildings located in the Town of Colonie that we purchased recently from The Beltrone Group.

When she assumed office in 2008, Supervisor Mahan promised to bring the Town back to financial stability.  She more than succeeded, returning Colonie to full fiscal health while at the same time maintaining excellent resident services.  The Town has also met the requirements of the State’s tax cap every year since it was begun in 2012.

Maintaining public safety and Colonie’s quality of life have also been among Paula Mahan’s key goals. During her tenure, Colonie was ranked the safest community of its size in the nation two years in a row and voted the region’s “Best Suburban Community” in the Times Union’s annual readers’ poll three years in a row.  In addition, a 2016 poll by the Siena Research Institute indicated that an overwhelming 97 percent of Town residents agree that Colonie is a great place to raise a family.

After initiating ambitious long-term initiatives to upgrade the Town’s drinking water and sewer systems,   Supervisor Mahan in 2015 was named “Elected Official of the Year” by the Capital Branch of the American Public works Association.  Colonie is also in the seventh year of a ten-year program designed to return the Town’s 320 miles of roads back to top working condition.

From the outset, Paula Mahan has made it her mission to foster smart commercial and residential development throughout the Town.  Her administration streamlined the planning process and developed aggressive strategies for redevelopment of vacant and underutilized sites.  Currently, Colonie is a leader in new development in the Capital Region.

With the purchase of 1, 2 and 3 Winners Circle, 187 Wolf Road, and ten warehouses in the New Karner Road area, The Rosenblum Companies joins the most recent wave of investment activity taking place throughout Colonie.  Supervisor Mahan will talk about this development and redevelopment in the Town, including the Albany Shaker/Sand Creek connector, new airport exit, and a review of the Town’s decade-old comprehensive plan.

At the July marketing session, The Rosenblum Companies will also showcase improvements that are underway at 1 and 2 Winners Circle as part of a comprehensive upgrade program for the Wolf Road area office buildings, as well as several of the forward thinking companies we work with to provide healthier, more productive workplaces:

  • Ecovative will introduce their new line of sustainable interior design solutions, which utilize the company’s MycoBoard™ and MycoFoam™ products combined with environmentally friendly coverings from Designtex, e2e Materials adhesives, and finishes by Vermont Natural Coatings.
  • Accent will demonstrate Herman Miller’s new Metaform Portfolio collaborate furniture.
