The Rosenblum Companies has broken ground on the construction of its second self-storage facility, ValuSpace^® Troy, located at 850 Hoosick Road in Brunswick, New York.

The site, formerly home to a commercial diesel repair shop, is located next to Tractor Supply and across Hoosick Road/Route 7 from Max BMW Motorcycles and Ace Hardware.  The brand new 66,000 square foot, two-story ValuSpace^® Troy facility will feature approximately 500 storage units ranging in size from 25 square feet up to 300 square feet including in-building drive up units, and high-tech security; e.g. code-controlled access and high-resolution IP camera system.  Like ValuSpace^® Albany, the facility’s front office will be staffed 7 days per week, and provide free coffee and bottled water to clients as well as packing supplies for sale.

The Rosenblum Companies anticipates that ValuSpace^® Troy will open in Summer 2018. This will closely coincide with the opening of The News Apartments, another Rosenblum Cos development project that will provide 101 market rate apartments and ground floor retail at 501 Broadway, former home of the Troy Record newspaper, in downtown Troy.

Modern, safe, retail anchored self-storage is an increasingly important amenity for residential development; hundreds of new apartment units have opened in the City of Troy and the Town of Brunswick alone and additional projects are proposed or under construction.

The company’s first ValuSpace^®, located at 40 N. Russell Road in Albany between the Westgate Plaza Price Chopper and Home Depot opened in August 2017.
