New Sustainable Roofs at Great Oaks Office Park
As part of an ongoing effort to maintain our buildings in top condition and increase sustainability, The Rosenblum Companies just completed replacing the roofs of all three buildings in the Great Oaks Office Park!

Our new highly-reflective, gray colored roofs will improve our building integrity while reducing its carbon footprint. Featuring a single-ply thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) sheet and strong polyester fabric core, our new roofs are:
- puncture, impact and hail resistant
- more durable to heat, cold, UV, ozone and oxidation
- free from harmful chlorine and plasticizer chemicals.
By reflecting the sun’s energy in the summer, the roof remains “cooler” and thus transfers less heat into the building – resulting in significantly less work for our air-conditioning systems. In the winter, increased insulation and a seamless welding system ensures heat stays inside the building instead of escaping through the roof.
The roofing membrane, which contains post-consumer recycled material, is 100% recyclable, so it won’t end up in a landfill when it’s time to replace again decades from now! Furthermore, the roof was installed using mechanical fasteners and an advanced heat weld system, which eliminated the need for harsh chemical adhesives.
This latest investment, totaling nearly half-a-million dollars, is just one in a number of sustainability improvement projects completed this year at both of our premier office park locations. Earlier this spring, we installed new, state-of-the-art LED exterior lights in all our parking lots – resulting in reduced energy consumption and greater visibility and safety. We also partnered with NYSERDA and ChargeNY to install electric vehicle charging stations for our tenants to use free of charge!
At Rosenblum, we’re committed to continually investing in and improving our properties, providing our clients with better spaces and a better way to do business.
