Winter Warmth Drive Recap

From January 1st through February of this year, The Rosenblum Companies and CBRE-Albany joined forces to support the “Winter Warmth Project,” a joint initiative of the American Red Cross Eastern NY Region and Veteran’s Miracle Center (VMC) to collect new winter apparel and accessories for men and women veterans in need.

Jeff Mirel and Cheryl Stock from The Rosenblum Companies, and CBRE-Albany Managing Partner, Richard Sleasman, delivered the items collected at Corporate Plaza and Great Oaks office parks to the VMC, and had the pleasure of joining Dianna Rios (Services to the Armed Forces Regional Program Director) for a tour.

The VMC’s mission is to offer veterans and active-duty military personnel real solutions that will enhance their lives. They provide clothing, personal care and hygiene products, houseware items, ambulatory equipment, toys for their children and much more, as well as specialists available in counseling for personal needs, jobs, housing or financing. All goods and services are available free-of-charge to veterans and their immediate household.

It was a humbling experience to speak with Dianna and her team, who subsequently shared with us that the Winter Warmth Project resulted in the collection and distribution of over 100 coats, approximately 300 sets of gloves and 200 hats for homeless and in-need veterans in our area, made possible in part by the contributions of our generous tenants!
